 When I was a younger I used to watch my Dad and brothers do car model kits and want in on the action. In some ways I can be girly but I fit in with the guys... I guess that may be the reason I ended up in a house full of them lol. So when I got into my Titanic kick (which I still sort of have) I was ecstatic to get a titanic model kit. Unfortunately, my father could be a perfectionist and hated messes, so he was 'prepared' for me to paint. Like I said before, I love miniatures. I love cruising by the miniature scenes created by people at the fair and the more detail the better.

   My stepson has a real hard time finding something to do. If he is not entertained by the tv or game system, he is at a lost. I have a hard time understanding this since I had so many hobbies it seemed I didn't have enough time for them all. So I am desperate to find his hobby that may get him out of the virtual world. He seems to be creative and was able to do a small lego kit quite easily so I looked for model kits. That is when I found Ben's site All Points Hobbies.    I don't know if it is just my area or if this is the case in a lot of places, but I have a hard time finding any models, let alone specific ones. You pretty much have to go online now-a-days. I found one last year for the oldest' birthday, but the only one I could find was plastic molds with plaster of paris for the body. This was ok, but not the same. And it definitely didn't hold his interest much. It's not as realistic. All Points Hobbies has different skill levels. They sent my stepson a 69 Chevy Camaro snap kit. It is perfect for ones who are just getting into it. It skips the mess but with over 40 peices to put together it's no baby version either. This is something he can do alone, with help and have fun doing it. I kept teasing him with a 'I know something you don't know..you're getting something in the mail' bit. He is a very hard to please kid. He gets spoiled by some, but I know he was actually excited about the kit and when he comes back from over at his visiting his other mother's we will sit right down and dive in to the kit. I will also post pictures of how well he did. I'm telling you, this kit is perfect for tween boys. But, they have so many choices.

   There is aircraft, military, automobile, ships, sci-fi and more. What star wars fan wouldn't love to have the Millennium Falcon?
