Flightless Goose book and site review and their anti-bullying campaign

I wanted to try something a little different this time around to show everyone the newest book that my kids adore, so at the bottom of this post is my kids showing it off. The book is called Flightless Goose by Eric D. Goodman and is illustrated by his wife Nataliya. It is a charming little story with about a goose named Gilbert that was involved in a terrible accident and lost the ability to fly. It shows how ones with disabilities can be tolerated at first but then ridiculed or passed off. It is a great example of why people shouldn't judge one another and maybe look for more then what's on the outside. I love having this in our collection, especially since my father in law in paralyzed and I have other family members with mental handicaps. I was branded with the 'Do not judge lesson' from my mother because of my uncles condition. This story is such a good companion for these lessons. And, it came with an audio book which my boys absolutely loved. 'Spaz' is always listening to cds that go with the books, so he was especially liking the audio book feature.
Along with this book, a site was launched for kids to have interactive fun with Gilbert and do different activities. There are places for your kids to leave their own comments, and coloring pages and a great campaign that has been started to teach kids against bullying and different ways to deal with it. With every purchase of the book comes 2 free gifts... a crayola art gift and the audio version of the book for take along trips. I'm so glad we got to be a part of reviewing this book and seeing something that is doing such good in its beginning. Please check the Flightless Goose site with or for your child and grab a copy of the book. You won't be sorry you did.

(The video below is a snippet of the book Flightless Goose with my 'Spaz' and 'Lil Riot' The picture got reversed somehow, so you are looking at everything in a mirror image, but you get the idea :)

All reviews are my own opinions. I was not paid by any of the sponsors.
