I always get excited when I have the opportunity to own something a little bit different. I have a certain style that I guess mixes many styles. I love hippie wear...wrap around skirts..tie-dyed shirts, I heart my sweaters and comfy sweatshirts and feel right at home in boot cut jeans. I have been told that I am a flower child and belong in the 70's... my nickname used to be 'Granola' for a short time.. but I am drawn to a flapper style as well. Maybe I just don't know what I like... or maybe I just love to change it up. I can tell you one thing though... I love the hats that Sarah makes!
I was given the opportunity to review one of the hats at Knitworks by Sarah. My first impression when I looked through her store was that I would feel like a flapper donning one of her hats. The cloches she does are fantastic. I chose the green flower cloche. It was a toss up between the that or the elegant double brimmed cloche in red. But, even though I have been told I look really good in red, I don't favor it on me. So the green flower one it is! Sarah was super sweet and got the hat out so quick.
The hat fit perfectly. At first I wasn't quite sure how it would look on me. I loved the hat but I was in the car and looked in the mirror and it did not do it justice. When I got home and threw it on, I loved it like I thought I would. I've always loved that color green ... in fact... I used to love it a little too much by having mostly that color in my closet! I love the rustic, frayed look to the flower and it is really comfortable. In the winter it will be warm and stylish. The aviator hats she does are great for winter too.
Sarah has been crocheting since she was just 10 years old and started to knit at 16. She likes to push the limits and tackle difficult patterns but is playing with designing her own patterns. Which she then gives out for free on her blog Opera in Jeans. She has different tutorials on there, you should definitely check it out! She keeps you updating on when new collections are going in her shop and sales when they happen. If you see anything you like on there, which I am sure you will, put her in your circle or heart her shop so you can see her newest creations. I will keeping a keen eye out :)

If you want one of Sarah's unique hats, check out her Etsy shop ( Knitworks by Sarah) or her handle halfdiminished7 and peruse her collection. They would make a great gift and they are so affordable for the work that goes in each one.
Thank you Sarah for the great new adoption into my hat family. I love it!
