    For the last couple of years we have had ongoing issues with our home. Most of it was septic or water pipe related. We have had things replaced, but in the middle of winter, pipes had broke and caused lots of water damage. Since then we have been able to fix the problem and replace the septic and many other things, but we have not gotten to redoing floors and walls in the rooms.   The skinny in my opinion:

I would say that it was musty, and it smelled like an animal crawled into the floors and walls, messed in them and then died. I am not trying to be gross, and there is no animal issues, but that is what it smelled like. 

   Now, 3-4 days later, I don't pick up on it anymore. There is still a slight odor that is different from the rest of the house that lingers around in there, but there is a huge DRASTIC difference in the room now. I don't know how these work for the fridge or AC because I have not tried it out in those places, but if it works as good or better then in a musty, nasty smelling room, then I am sold! I have allergies that act up with certain odors, and that room has been much better for me. I don't even know if that was supposed to be a benefit or not, but I can breath much better in that room now. Not to mention, the kids can sleep better without that retched smell.
