Are you one of the half a billion people that suffer from occasional or chronic sleep disorders? What about just suffering from interrupted sleep due to the noisy city with car alarms or a barking dog that sees a cat? The last one is me! I am blessed with two dogs that bark at the same cat our neighbors are nice enough to let loose all the time. With the dogs and boys that wake up a few times in the night, my husband and I don't get that sound sleep we are desperately needing. If you are in the same boat, have I got a treat for you!
Adaptive Sound Technologies Inc. or (ASTI) set out to design a product that would help individuals gain that nights rest with sound sleep without the aid of over the counter or prescribed sleep aids. In other words they want people to fall asleep and stay asleep naturally. Who wants to get addicted to a medication just to catch a few z's?
I was blessed with the opportunity to review a Sound+Sleep therapy system and boy was I excited! It has proven to be exactly what I was hoping for. This incredible unit has loads of features that are bound to help get you feeling your best in the morning. I mean, they really thought of everything. I really wanted to get a video done so I could show you but for some reason my audio is acting up. I will work on getting that back in order so I can get it up to show you. In the meantime, let me do my best to tell you.
First off, the unit came very safely packaged and really quick in just a couple days. Unpacking was simple and it only has one adapter to plug in and that gets connected on the bottom. The design of the machine is sleek and stylish with the speaker at the top. I didn't waste any time diving right in and trying it out. I read up in the manual a little and learned some interesting things about the features and plugged it in.
The Sleep+Sound system has a series of so called sound stories. Each story is a different environment and can have effects added to it. The first one we tried was meadow. This has crickets chirping and light bird sounds, which I think is one of my favorites. Always growing up with those sounds, it feels right at home for me. With 10 sound stories to choose from, I am sure that there will be one or more that you love. You can play these stories until you shut it off or put it on a timer. You can set the timer for 30, 60, 90, or 120 minutes. The sounds will play for a half hour before it loops around. What's interesting is the richness button. The higher the richness the more sound effects enter the story making it more natural and less repetitive. Another little gem is the adaptive button. When you turn this feature on it will mask any sudden sounds with its built in microphone. When a car alarm goes off, it picks it up and the volume of the story will go up so all you hear is the sound story. Your mind will never register that pesky car alarm. How cool is that?
I find the machine plenty loud enough but it does have a speaker jack that you can plug in to really make it loud or you can plug in some headphones if you bunk with a room mate (maybe in a dorm) that snores :) I am extremely happy with my Sound+Sleep system and am even more happy that I am hosting a giveaway where you can win one!
Currently until August 17th, I am running a Back To School Event giveaway where one of the prizes (that all go to one winner) will get a Sound+Sleep system for themselves! Click on the picture below to be brought to the giveaway post. Use the rafflecopter to put your entries in and good luck.
