Yesterday was the first game in the season for 'The Gamer'. He loves baseball. It was a beautiful day. The sky was dark and threatening but never acted on its threats till we got in the car to leave. Then it started rainging :) He started practicing at 4:30 then the game started an hour later. It didn't end till 8:00! So the younger two boys fell asleep soon after. It was nice because they had a sand pile with tonka trucks there, so Spaz was thoroughly entertained, while Lil Riot was cheering his big brother on.
The first play The Gamer had he hit a triple right off. His game has improved tremendously since last year and he is really starting to get into it. It is nice to see him excited for something other then video games! His pitching was a little rusty but he seemed to warm up and did well there too. He proudly took the game ball home. It was very nice to get out as a family and enjoy the outdoors after the long winter that we have had.
Here is Lil Riot watching his brother on the pitcher's mound and cheering him on. It was really cute. He heard others making comments and started telling The Gamer to "Throw that ball!" "Good job buddy!" and "You're doing great!" Lil Riot is the other sport fan in the family. Spaz is more academic while Lil Riot has quite an arm.
And although The Gamer was a little disappointed that he didn't get to play 1st like he was told, he snapped out of that funk and we all had a great time. He got lots of pep talks and compliments and we are super proud :)
