Kintting Knee-Highs by Barb Brown - A book review

I know how to crochet ( or at least somewhat) but I have always wanted to knit. As much as I love crochet items, knitted projects look more put together in most cases. I love the look of knitted hats, leg warmers and arm cozies. Arm cozies are the big one that I want to learn. They are stylish, practical and just plain sweet! So, I want to start making them for myself, my sister and nieces. Thanks to Barb Brown, she put together a 128 page full color book with over 18 knee high projects. She tells you how to convert any knee high pattern into leg warmers (score!) and other formulas and tips are throughout.

Unfortunately, this book doesn't go over the abbreviations for the stitches and explain how to do them. So, in other words, this is not a book for beginners. I actually thought it may have more information for ones not so informed on the patterns, but I am not disappointed either way. It didn't say for beginners on the cover and I shouldn't have assumed. This book is over my head as of right now, but it won't be for long. I am excited to try some of these patterns. If I master these, I could make the nice warm wool socks for my husband when he goes and works outside in the winter or the beautiful arm cozies for us girls in the fall. I can't wait to learn these beautiful patterns, and I am very happy I have such a resource book as this on my shelf!
