Getting back in the swing of things..

Hello everyone. It has been a while... I know. The saying "When it rains, it pours" was made up with our family in mind. My grandmother 'Memere' went into the hospital with pain in her leg due to a blood clot. When investigating it further and taking care of it, the clot dislodged and she had major pain in her back and had a hard time breathing. She was transported to a bigger hospital and put on a ventilator. This is when I left the blog for a while to spend time with her. Not even a week later, she passed from 3 different cancers, two were stage 4. It was heart wrenching, but we all got special moments with her. She was fully aware of her fate and let everyone knew that she loved them and told us to smile.
Lessons get learned during times like these. No matter how irritated someone may get, take pictures. Lots and lots of pictures. Here I am mourning my Memere and trying to help put a slide show together for her funeral service and I can't find one picture of the two of us together. We did many things together, do you think that I pulled out the camera? Now I wish I had my camera out all the time. Don't end up regretting this later. I did however have her with my boys not too long ago. My other grandmother is in a nursing home with dementia and now I am going to take my camera up and get a few snapshots of us.
Another hard lesson learned is to make the time for your family. I mean the extended family. My children don't have the full family that most have as it is. There have been deaths, divorces and moves all over the place. So making time to visit people that are around is extremely important. My boys could have had more memories with their great grandmother.
So this Thursday is a service and then her ashes will be spread over the Ocean. She loved the water. I wish there was going to be a place to go visit her but honestly I can't imagine it any other way.

P.S.
I will start to get all reviews that are owed up right away. I'm sorry for the delay.
