I grew up around a lot of animals. You name it, I was probably familiar with it when I was young. I even had pet rats. I know... wanna hear something more icky? One of them rats were hairless. Anyways, so I have been around the pros and cons and definitely one of the biggest cons with pets is the odor they can leave behind (if you know what I mean) Since we had so many darn cats growing up, among other things, and yes... that is how some of my pet rats met their demise :(... a dog seemed like a better choice for a pet for our boys. I like cats still but kinda had my fill. The downer of a dog is I never liked the smell of dog or the hair they shed. There is nothing worse then walking into a house and immediately knowing they have a dog cause you can smell that oh so distinct dog smell.
I have 2 big babies for dogs but for being short haired pooches they shed quite a bit! Especially our bullmastiff. He also scratches all the time, leaving even more hair. To top that all off he drools like crazy. He used to have drool lines on the bed of our truck where it just dripped down. Lol. Gross! Anyway, so on particularly hot days that odor those doggies have can sometimes say hello or when I get real close to the carpet cleaning something up. My goodness! That's a reality check on needing to shampoo the rug!. I actually hate carpets but until we are blessed enough to replace them with wood, I need to find ways to keep it clean and safe for my boys to lay down on and play their cars. PureAyre has given me that something... a safe odor eliminator.
It would have been perfect timing no matter what time they send some out to review, but this really was great timing. We had just kicked the dogs outside because my middle son started breaking out in hives. We are concerned he has all of a sudden developed an allergy to the dogs. So while we have made them comfortable outside, we got ready to get down to business to find out whats going on that causes Spaz to break out.
As soon as I got the PureAyre bottle I tried it out in my livingroom. Particularly in the spot right next to my front door. That gets the most traffic not only from people coming in and out but also because that is where my lab has many accidents and where they sit asking to go out. The lab was abused before us and for the longest time when anyone would come over she would shake and pee a little. She has finally gotten over that but she has had a few accidents from being too excited and needing to go out. I guess old habits die hard sometimes. So that area was the number one priority to try PureAyre out!
My results:
Wow! Not hype, just wow.
I have allergies so many things that can hide odors bother my sinuses aweful, but this eliminates odors and is really refreshing! I sprayed it on that horrible spot (and yes, I put my nose to the carpet and was not surprised that it is still unpleasant up close!) After spraying it and leaving it for a few, I went back to check it out. I could not smell that offensive odor as I did just a little bit ago, in its place was a minty smell that was really refreshing. I mean I really tried to smell the other odors cause whenever I use sprays there is always a slight trace of them still there (which actually makes it much worse smelling them close up let me tell you!) because they were covered up but PureAyre must actually eliminate.
The next spot I tried was a coffee spill that had left a stain as well. Completely wiped out the smell but I wouldn't buy it as a stain removal. I noticed a slight difference but honestly, a set coffee stain is probably only the big guns anyways.
Now don't laugh but I really pulled out all the stops on this review. I was curious to what may be the limit on odor eliminating for this great product. So.... hehe... I went to my kitchen garbage where I had just thrown a diaper in and opened her up. Yes it was an aweful smell that was nicely contained in its stainless steel confines but I sprayed her anyways. I know... reaching. But I have to say PureAyre did a lot more than I thought it would! Haha. I don't recommend this however since it was still pretty rough!
My rating on this product would be an 9 out of 10. I think it does a great job on eliminating odor and I love that it is all natural. I also love that you can spray it right on your pets!
Here are some facts pulled from their site:
PureAyre is composed of plant-derived enzymes, purified water and essential oils. It is the first and only food-grade odor eliminator. That's why it's safe. And PureAyre is the only product with enzymes specifically targeted to break the bonds of all odor-causing compounds found in nature. That's why it's strong.
You have a lot of odor eliminators to choose from, and some of them work on some odors. But only PureAyre works on all organic odors. Only PureAyre uses the right enzymes in the right amounts to be this effective and strong. And only PureAyre is bottled without using any alcohol or hazardous chemicals as stabilizers. No other odor eliminator can make these claims. That's why other odor eliminators are only partially successful…if they work at all.
