Having some good after experiencing some bad...

The last couple of weeks have been a real mixture of emotions and activities. I have been trying to find all sorts of fun things for us to do as a family, went to a wedding that had lots of quirks and lost my grandmother abruptly. I think keeping busy has helped with the sadness but I haven't had any time to share it.
(The most recent pic I have of my grandmother and my boys)

I made a post about losing my grandmother but I would like to share some photos of my fathers visit and the places we went. We had it planned to watch the fireworks on the beach this year before plans started getting hectic. A dear friend was getting married on that day (and in the middle of the day I might add) so it was already hectic enough.

A poor gentlemen had had a little too much fun the night before and had a seizure and ended up leaving the wedding in an ambulance. So we rushed back to the brides home and got pictures taken and then it was hurry back, grab the family and head out on a 2 hour drive to the beach.
(the boys loved spinning these cups!)

The boys had a blast but boy was that hurting our wallet! $20 just to park the car and I wouldn't have been half as irritated about it if the guy directing me gave me enough room to get out! $20 was high enough but I definitely couldn't afford the paint job on the car next to me! That was a nice car. He maybe let me have 1 1/2 feet between me and the car next to me. Anyways, we went and bought $30 bracelets for the boys to ride the rides and I went on some with the oldest. I don't know if it is just that I am getting more leery of rides or if it is because I know what mechanic creaks and groans could mean but boy was I scared stiff on that rollercoaster. It was real jerky in movements and sounded like it would collapse any second. And the neighboring ride was being run without breaks! I dunno but with all the money they get for everything, you would think that they could hire more handymen :/

After watching the fireworks over the carnival, which was amazing, we headed home and went to parks the following day. We have a great park near us that has everything. The boys have been really enjoying their summer this year. Which is nice because we usually don't get much in.
(Lil Riot watching the fireworks hehe)

On the 7th I took a break from the fun to have reality hit again and go to my Memere's funeral. It was definitely bittersweet. I had regrets of not seeing her enough, gladness to see my family and sadness cause I know that this may be our last gathering. My father's side don't get together often as it is, and knowing that the one that brought us all together is gone now, who knows if and when it may happen again. After the service my father who had been staying with us for a little over a week went back home to Georgia. Again, I hope we see him again soon, but who knows if and when.

The boys went to the pool yesterday while I did some needed grocery shopping. I was on a deal high because of the great coke deal at Shaws. 3 for $9 and you get a free 8pk of 12oz bottles with each deal. If you use the coupon in the coupon book (you can ask for it at the customer service desk) you get $2 more dollars off. So I got 88 sodas for $16! He he.... I am not much of a coupon junkie but my aunt showed me some tips and I think I may give it a try!

Today we couldn't take the 96 degrees and took the boys to a boat landing. There were about 20+ ducks and about 15 geese there that we helped feed. The boys thought it was cool that they came so close and we saw a mother duck with her fuzzy babies. After the boat landing we took them to a park and let them play and eat. We have been pretty active, getting tan and having lots of fun. What have you all been doing this summer? Can you believe that school is only like a month and a half away????? Crazy!!!
