A few days ago we celebrated my son turning 6. 'Spaz' turned another year older and this year showed it. He was very specific in what he really wanted to see when he unwrapped his presents and for the most part he got what he wanted but he had to wait on a couple due to shipping. In fact, one is still not here. He's being super good about it though! We didn't plan a big party because with all the kids in the family we have decided to do our part in toning down the events and keep it to the milestone birthdays.
He was in love with Disney Pixar Cars last year (and trains) but he seems even more into this year! I made a cake myself this year, now don't laugh because I didn't do fondant! That is way easier to work with lol. I used a lenticular cars picture for the topper. I had messed up the first design so this picture was taken after scraping the thing off and starting over. The list of what he wanted... Cars 2.. but that obviously isn't out yet. Chick Hicks, The King, and the red lightning McQueen.. but he let me know that Dinaco was ok too. He wanted a wii remote so he could play multiplayer games and a cars back pack for school. He was very thankful and that makes me proud. It was hard to see his younger brother not understanding the whole 'its your brother's birthday'. But he did pretty well.
The other special guy who's birthday is today, is the hubs. I feel so bad about how his day is turning out. We woke up and made coffee, the kiddies were actually gone because my sister took them to a children's church event and I went to go check the mail. I only intended on checking our box at the end of our rode. Then I got a slip and of course I wanted to see what that was. So I go downtown and check the post office. I get my packages and start for home, happy to bring a surprise package home for the hubs. Then it happened....
I just start over the hill going down to my house and almost hit a beautiful black horse! She broke through her fence and the owners were chasing her. She was on a dangerous road heading for an intersection. I asked the owners if they needed help, which they quickly replied "Yes!" So I promptly pull over, forgetting to lock my car and just bolt after horse. But this horse is wild, you can tell. I find out that she is 2 years old and won't even let the new owner near her. She made it all the way on to our on ramp for the highway before the local police finally got involved. She was being chased into the road over and over and I finally after trying to help headed back to my car to get some people I knew that were comfortable with horses to help. I was getting to frustrated at the people chasing her and I didn't want to see it end with the cop shooting her. But happy ending! She was caught alive without being put down as of yet. That didn't stop my husband from wondering what the heck was going on. I go to check our mail at the end of the road and come back hours later!

Then I got back just in time for the kids to get here, and then get one of the neighbors kids. So he has had me gone for a while, extra kids around and has been doing house work! Great birthday this has turned out to be for him! I'm good :/
