Bey Blade Blues and other news.

Hello everyone! Boy oh boy has it seemed like I have been on auto pilot for a while now. Over the last week I have worked 2 jobs, while bringing the hubs to his job (which was a ways away) and making sure the kids were all set and making it to school on time while my brother and his girlfriend had their baby and two of my nieces had a birthday. Phew! I'm exhausted! Now it is house and blog catch up time for me!

Sunday night we all went out to the store to buy the boys a new beyblade. The oldest has quite a few but Spaz only had one (and lost some pieces to it) and Lil Riot did not have one at all. So we went shopping and they were all excited to get their new 'tops'. Spaz was complaining that no one would let him use their bey blades at school even when he asked nicely. With our rule of 'As long as you do well in school, you can bring your blades' in tact, Spaz was super excited that he was going to be bringing his beyblade to school like his big brother. ( Here is Spaz and Lil Riot with their blades)

He ate breakfast at home (which he usually LOVES eating school breakfast with his friends) and I brought him to school on Monday instead of him taking the bus. This way he could show off his new blade in the morning recess. We arrived 10 minutes early and was waiting outside the main doors and he was ripping his blade (pulling the cord and making the top spin for those of you who are not familiar with the toy). We no sooner got the word don't out of our mouths when we watched his brand new beyblade spin right into a manhole down into the sewer!

My big boy tried so hard not to cry but couldn't help it after a minute. The other kids were looking at it and pointing and starting to snicker. Spaz just broke down. What crap luck huh? So I'm hugging him and bringing him the school telling him it's ok, he will get another one when about 3-4 other kids come up and show my grief stricken child their new blades. He couldn't shake the shocking event that just happened, even when his little 'girlfriend' came and held his hand. (What a cutie she was!!) So I made him look at me and I told him he would have the same bey blade at his afternoon recess that day. He cleared his tears, gave me a strong hug and went to play with his 'girlfriend' on the slide. I don't normally go buy repeat things with the boys when they don't take care of things, but this was such a bad luck story. I took Lil Riot back to the store and got him a new blade. When I got to the school, recess had been pulled inside due to the weather but when I got inside I see only Spaz running down the hall towards me and expecting his toy. When I gave it to him he just held me really tight and said 'I love you!' I told him not to lose it and went home. I am really glad my son trusted me so much that he knew I was going to be there with that thing but when I said not to lose the beyblade, that didn't mean come home without a back pack!!! :/
