Do you or a family member love to sing? I know I do and my younger two as well. We are definitely a family that appreciates music and lots of different kinds. I have always loved to sing and think that I could do alright if I had worked on it more and never picked up smoking.. I know.. :/ I used to write songs and everything and my favorite gift ever growing up was the karaoke machine my sister and I got from our parents. We absolutely loved that thing and couldn't get enough of it.
Now, especially Spaz, has inherited that gene as well and runs to the computer every time I put on a karaoke video I find on youtube or have a song he likes playing. He is drawn to them like crazy. Right now his class is practicing songs for the upcoming Aladdin play they will be performing. I couldn't be any more stoked since I am a huge Disney fan as well and surprised the crap out of him when I belted out A Whole New World start to finish when he got stuck lol. That was great.
So holiday shopping has begun to creep into my mind and I was on the hunt for products that will take our kids AWAY from the wii. What I stumbled across was the perfect find and that is the Emerson SD512 from www.GoKaraokeMachine.com . This is the kids Alvin and the Chipmunk (Alvinizer) version and it is soooo much more than a kids karaoke machine. In fact, to show you how serious I am, I have put together a video to show you everything it does... that is huge for me. Now mind you... there are quite a few things that couldn't have been tweeked but I am not really familiar with all the software I used yet and I only have certain times in the day that I can belt out on the mic without neighbors knocking on my door lol.
Let me just go over some of the features this karaoke machine has but the video will show you pretty much all you need to know if you can handle my loud voice and the breathing the kodak camera I used picked up so well. (Sorry about that!) I really put myself out there though, so I hope the video review is helpful!

It is very light weight so the lucky recipient can lug it everywhere. Below is the video showing you everything on the player and then has a song I recorded to show you how it sounds with the mic. Mind you, the video is recorded through a digital camera. The machine sounds much better than I could show you but hopefully you can see and hear what you need to.
Now, like it says above, it has 150 songs included. This includes your childhood favorites such as "If Your Happy and You Know It", "The Alphabet Song", Christmas songs and much more. However, you can fully customize it yourself. There are several ways to do this. You can play off of an mp3 player, an SD memory card or straight from the computer via usb cable. You can go into the internal memory and take ones off that you don't want and add ones more to your liking. It holds as much as 288 songs if they average 2 minutes or less... since songs range from 2-3 minutes I would assume around 250-260 give or take.

You can download songs right off the internet in karaoke packs or get cds and put them on your mp3 player. I used mp3 rocket and got a couple of youtube videos and converted it to mp3 so he could have some he really liked. It is super easy and a free download, but just make sure you do not violate any copyrights! I like covers, so I'm safe :)
You can buy this karaoke machine from www.GoKaraokeMachine.com for $84.99 and I am letting you know right now that with everything this can do and how much fun your little singer will have with it, it is worth every penny. The last gold mine was the wooden train set we got the boys for $100. They have now played with it at least once a week for over 2 years now. I know that this will get more attention than that with as much as we all love to sing. Sometimes you just need to make that investment for a really great gift. If you know a little special someone that loves to sing, you'll top Santa with this gift :)
