Who doesn't love blacklights? They are fun, you can really be creative and all kids are crazy about them. Even if they are not into playing around a lot with them, they make an awesome night light and the more detailed the posters or pictures .. the more they can just stare and fall asleep.
I am always on the prowl for gifts that are different from just video games and I especially love ones that can spark the imagination. You give a kid some white paper and highlighters... you are setting the stage for some great creative fun.
Blacklight.com has everything you could possibly need to get your child started with setting up their room into a glowing playland. From the blacklight fixtures themselves to techno bubbles that look gold. You can really deck out their space. Also, blacklight reactive decorations means you can have the room look one way by day and another way by night.
My boys have been having a blast making Mario and cool looking designs on white paper with highlighters. But, when they saw the posters from Blacklight.com, these quickly became the focal piece to their room. We reviewed 2 designs, the Opticz™ Moonlit Pirate Ship Blacklight Poster and the Opticz™ Living Reef Blacklight Reactive Poster. I loved the peaceful feel to the Pirate ship but there was so much to look at with the Living Reef. Both posters were just striking under the blacklight. We love color and they just exploded with it. Both posters are made in the USA :) and measures about 23" x 35". They are safely packaged and the shipping time was great. Have no fears when you order for Chrismtas gifts.
My camera doesn't really do them justice, but above are some pictures that I took to try and show you.
NOTE: DO NOT GET THESE WET. We opened ours in the car to while we waited for the hubs to do a few errands. When we brought them inside, it was raining. If you look close in the pictures above, you can see the 'grease splatter' looking stain on the poster. You know not to get posters wet anyway, but be extra careful with these.
You can buy these blacklight posters for just $9.99 and if you don't have the blacklight fixture, you can buy that for as little as $12.95. That is for a 12" fixture but you can certainly find larger ones there. You could set up your own club through their site. Take a look at some of the blacklight toys they offer. I like the miini basketball hoop. We actually have one on our doors but they are nothing like this. The boys would love playing around with that!
Or how about a chess set? Get a blacklight reactive board and grab a set of chess pieces to your liking. They have cats vs. dogs, medieval sets, Dragon3 and more.
You have to admit. This would bring the family together for some great fun if you were to set the light in the living room and pull out some games. Believe me, these times will stand out for your kids. I still remember when I used to color black light posters with my brother. It was something I could do for hours and I always tried to make them more and more detailed to give them an even more 3d look. How about you get your kids started with this giveaway?
