Check out GUM's new Star Wars line of toothbrushes coming out this spring!

To top off our promoting healthy teeth and gums, I want to share with you the new line of toothbrushes by GUM.
You gotta love how certain trends go through cycles. They could be really big, then forgotten about but make a come back and maybe even be revamped a little. Well Star Wars has always been a huge thing but it went through its waves as well. There was when it first came out... yea you know what I'm talking about.. when the guys wanted all the women to wear twin buns... hmmm anyways... Then there was the Jar Jar Binks and the Hayden Christensen frenzy from Episode 1 coming out and now it seems to be exploding again with the tween boys. Just goes to show that Star Wars is not going to go anywhere.

And while Star Wars is exploding on the scene and all boys want to get involved, why not use that to our advantage Mom and Dad and let them brush their teeth with their favorite characters? The new Star Wars line is perfect and comes with different styles and fun functions for every kid. I reviewed the Crayola GUM toothbrushes a while back and the boys were in love with these too... the lights blinking, the spinning brush... but these go over the top for them because now they have a light up Yoda lightsaber and a power brush featuring Captain Rex... they rock! What a great concept. They have had light up brushes before but how creative to make them light sabers. I think the only thing that could make these better is having the sound effects added. Here is some of what you can expect with the new line.

These power brushes are great. We now have one for each boy because they just love them. They are battery operated but powerful, lasts a while and they are great for getting the boys to brush their teeth properly but be fun as well. They love how it spins and they feel they aren't doing much work. Not to mention, they feel more grown up with these. For the power brushes you will be able to get Clone Captain Rex like the one that Spaz is holding above, or Darth Vader.

The awesome thing about the lightsaber toothbrushes (other than lighting up of course) is that they blink for a full 60 seconds so that your child knows how long to keep brushing. Nearly 90 percent of pediatric dentists said their patients don't brush long enough. We had the crayola ones that did the same thing before this one and it definitely helped out. The kids knew that as long as the brush blinked, they kept brushing. Definitely nice and this one is the cool Yoda green and the handle is just like a lightsaber.

And of course, they have the cool good ol' manual brushes that feature all their favorites. We like to keep extra of these on hands when we notice we need to replace one of their other ones or if we have someone who sleeps over and they didn't bring one. Check out this video below:




This great line comes out in the spring (2012), so keep your eyes peeled! Your star wars fan is gonna wanna get their hands on them and you will appreciate anything that makes the daily challenge of getting your kids to brush their teeth easier! Also....
