Before reading this book, I had no idea that that it was looked at as such a betrayal for a Jew to believe in Jesus Christ. I knew the belief in Jesus is what separated us from each other in our faith but I always looked at it like we were siblings who looked out for one another. It always baffles me when we can hold the same book and follow the same God but act in such different ways.
This book is the biography of Moishe Rosen and it is written by his oldest daughter Ruth. Coming from someone who knew her father well, respected him and loved him dearly; she does an amazing job of letting the rest of the world see him through her eyes. What a story and what an unbelievable missionary!
It always makes me smile when I see that God takes the roots that are just finding the soil and runs them so deep that everything around them is new and effected. For example, after Moishe accepts Jesus as his savior, a string of incidents occur that made it clear to Moishe that God was communicating and working though him. Specific prayers were answered, odd situations with outstanding outcomes presented themselves and audible direction could be heard that saved him more than once. There was no mistaking the fact that once Moishe found his path (which later lead him to founding Jews for Jesus), God partnered with him and made himself known. I have heard many things like this and have seen some things first hand to know that just because he does not show up in a burning bush, if you accept and listen, he is just as clear as always.
This book will make feel sad, mad, glad and inspired. You will get to know an incredible man on a personal level and be left wondering what your mark is destined to be. Moishe was a man that had old school ties on a new age suit. He knew how to change to keep people interested but keep the values that kept that giddy God love alive. This is a great read and highly recommended!
