Growing up I had the occasional blemish that would rear its ugly head but for the most part, I wasn't cursed with a face that broke out often. I would get more on my shoulders actually. I know.. weird. But as I grow older I tend to get break outs a lot more, especially around that lovely time of the month for us women. Since my skin is so sensitive, there never seems to be much I can do about it. I have to be very careful what I put on my face. It can dry out easily but gets oily often as well but I explode in break outs with the wrong moisturizer or make up.
So when an opportunity arose where I got to try out Apothederm's Acne Clarifying Treatment, I was definitely excited but a little nervous. My face has started scarring from all the blemishes and it has developed a pitty kind of look that I always worried about getting. Whenever trying a new product, I am extremely cautious. As much as I would love to just slather it on and watch the effects.. I need to do it in small doses to see if my skin likes it or not. That is exactly what I did with Apothederm.
Because it could possibly dry out my face, after I washed..I started with just applying a small amount on just the trouble areas. For me, this was my chin (which is always broke out) and my temple region. The bottle has a great convenient pump that gives just the right amount for me. Straight out the bottle the treatment feels light and silky and just a tad on the runnier side. I actually like this because it didn't seem like it would be heavy feeling. A little goes a long way.. another plus. At a little over $30 a bottle, you don't want to have to go through a lot real quick. Once it was on, I felt a tingle (and tiny amounts of stinging) on my current blemishes and then a gentle tightening of the skin. I love the tightening feeling, it was a drying out as much as a firming. Here is a horrible before picture with absolutely no make up... as you can plainly see.... sorry! :/
I applied this treatment only at night after my face was washed to begin with and then moved up to in the morning as well after I realized it was going to be safe for my skin. I never did go to three times a day... partly because I was always on the go in the middle of the day and forgot and I was seeing effects with just 2.. so why overdo it? In a couple weeks I went from having a speckled blemished chin to having just a couple spots that weren't that noticeable and this was during the time I normally break out from my period approaching! I also feel as though the skin looks younger. With age the scars or pits as I like to call them become larger and harder to prevent but I swear this stuff is reversing this! Here is an after picture. Even though the quality of the photo is not as good, you can definitely see a vast improvement, especially in the larger blemishes!
Of course this photo also looks better because I am smiling. It is nice to build confidence and I hate wearing make up.. soon I may not have to use any at all for cover up! This bottle is sold for $32.50 right at Apothederm.com or on Amazon. This may seem expensive, but all your good quality products are and you really don't need much for each application. I will let you know how long this lasts for me.
