Signature Series, King James Version
Seeing how I just came back from church (after not going for far too long) and Black History Month is just around the corner, I thought it was perfect timing to break out the Sisters In Faith Holy Bible and give you my review on it. First off, let me just say.. I was super excited to get the opportunity to review a new Bible on Booksneeze. I love picking up different editions and giving them to someone it speaks out to for me. I already know who will receive this edition and I am looking forward to the chance, especially after reading through it.
My first real (over used) study bible is my Women Of Faith Study Bible. I bought it when I first started going to church on my own because I was looking for a Bible that spoke to me like a pastor's sermon. I like the extra notes that were thrown in. They really helped me understand things in a new light and helped me keep them in mind. So when I saw the Sisters In Faith Holy Bible available, I desperately wanted to check it out.
At first I thought "sisters" meant "sisters in Christ". This version is specifically geared toward empowering African American women with God's truth. However, I feel this could be used for women of all races and backgrounds. It has a very inviting and personable approach to it and I just love the features found inside. A few of these features are:
The Heart - Giving you the "heart of the matter" within each book so you can easily access an overview to get acquainted with its content and theme.
She Speaks - This is one of my favorite features. These inserts offer the reader a chance to look at life through the eyes of the women in the Bible in first person view. These are fun and puts you right in the story.
Lyrical Expressions - Periodical poems found throughout the pages addressing real life dilemmas and the resulting drama.
There are several more features this Bible offers along with a free bible study tool that you can download. There are 16 pages to take notes on in the back and 10 full color maps, a feature index and a wonderful concordance as well. The verses are spaced perfectly for easy underlining and the print is easy on the eyes. With the jacket off, this Bible is bound in a beautiful deep purple hard cover with silver writing and accents. I love how they did this Bible! Click below to grab your own copy and be blessed!
I received this product for the purpose of review through Booksneeze and Thomas Nelson. The opinions in this post are 100% my own and may differ from yours.
