I can't wait to try Miracle-Gro Expand 'n Gro!

Spring is coming and this year I have a reason to be extra excited.  You see, most years I can't get anything to really grow in my yard.  My soil is hard and rocky and not very fertile, so spring doesn't come with too many flowers around here.  It's a pretty big bummer because I am big on flowers.

I've tried planting lilac bushes here about five times with no luck, but this year I have hope that things will be different because this year I have the opportunity to try Miracle-Gro Expand ‘n Gro™ Concentrated Planting Mix.

As it turns out, most native soils are not ideal for planting.  It can be pretty overwhelming to try to create the perfect planting atmosphere, especially if you aren't an avid gardener, but merely someone who enjoys the flowers.

What's great about the Miracle-Gro Expand 'n Gro is that it is made mainly of coir pith, which comes from coconut by-products that were always just disposed of, but now are finding new uses around the world thanks to Miracle-Gro. This coir pith has a honey-comb, sponge-like cell structure when compressed that allows it to expand over and over for years. This is great for plants because it creates the right amount of moisture and air and helps plants grow at their best.

This planting mix is said to expand up to three times it's original size when water is added, improve your planting soil for multiple years, help you get up to three times the flowers and vegetables that you would get with your native soil, and feed your plants for up to six months! It's a really easy way to prep your garden for Spring or Summer planting. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what this spring and summer has to offer me.

     Do you use planting mix?
